My Second Choice?

Hey there,

Thanks for reading my blog. I hope you guys get many beneficial infos from this blog.

Somebody did message me privately regarding my second choice for undergraduate program in IMU.

Actually, I never really been thinking about that, but since somebody asked for it. I started to question myself and then I think I would choose Chinese Medicine for my second choice.

WHY CHINESE MEDICINE?

Well, to be honest, I was so fascinated by how Chinese medicine practitioners using Herbals and Natural products for treating diseases and symptoms.

Also, Chinese Medicine is one of the biggest Alternative Medicine that is established in this world. They got so many kinds of specialties like Acupuncture, Acupressure, Tuina, Moxibustion, Chinese Medical Pediatrics, Chinese Gynecology, Herbal Specialist and so many more.

The medical treatment method is varied and some of them really proven to benefits the patient. As an example, stroke patient can use Acupuncture in order to help the muscle & nerve regeneration. It is really a proven and tons of scientific research done on it.

Using Acupuncture to treat medical conditions

As western conventional medicine rely on drugs and medication to treat symptoms of the disease, Chinese Medicine Physician tend to use Herbal and natural products to treat not only the disease but they also focus on the underlying causes of the disease, hence it seems to treat the disease in more holistic approach.

Don't get me wrong, both of the conventional and alternative medicine are needed, it just both of them are best in different aspect and approach.

As such, conventional medicine is really needed in cases of emergency and hospitalization (as major Treatment and Rehabilitative Aspect) while Chinese Medicine is more needed as Preventative Medicine - that create Health Awareness focusing on Healthy Lifestyle and Diets.

As for IMU, IMU Undergraduate Program in Chinese Medicine also offers Twinning Program to various Universities in China and Australia. I really looking forward for credit transfer options especially when they have some sort of connection between established leading  universities in China. You guys can check out some of these photos taken in IMU Chinese Medicine centre.

My Dream Undergraduate Program 💖

Hey there,

We all love to eat right? And so do I, love to eat too!

Everything related to food is a really interesting topic for me. When I see my grandfather started to sick, he started to change his way of eating. Then, I realized that almost all disease come from foods.

Let say cancer, that one word that everybody seem to afraid of. It's like the end of the world when we get cancer. We don't really know the underlying cause of cancer, but most probably the food that we eat contains so many carcinogens (Cancer Inducing Substances). Besides, the way we cook the food is also a big matter in which the food may still be beneficial to our body or not.

From there, I started to question whether the sick people eat the right food or not. And does that food may help them in healing process.

I went to a hospital once to see a dietetics that consult my grandfather's diet. He was so charismatic and very helpful. However, he was too busy that one hospital only have like two to three Dietetics, although we all know that this job is one of the most important position to have in hospital.

I read a book from Dr. Hiromi Shinya. He wrote The Enzyme Factor, a book that tells all about diet, on how our intestine resembles our whole body health.

He is the one whom created Endoscopy and Colonoscopy (device that is used to check on our intestine-colon condition) , and the first person who was performing Polypectomy, a surgery using the endoscopy to remove Polyp/s (a tumor growth in intestine) that can avoid harmful old school invasive surgery technique.

I was so fascinated by the way he present his ideas on diet and sick people.

That's why I really want to be a dietetics so that I can share the ideas and promotes health awareness to the society.

Plus, IMU also has the credit transfer option. I can choose to do 4 years whole course in local or embark on a journey in overseas for 5 years duration.

I am planning to do twinning (credit transfer program) in one of the University in New Zealand, University of Otago. By choosing this option, I got the chance to get my Master Degree straight away after finishing 3 years in IMU and 2 years in University of Otago.

Please pray for me so that I can continue and finish my study there okay!

Thank you for reading my blog! Would like to hear your opinion based on my choice and do comment me if you got something to share too!

Why I Chose IMU FIS for Pre-U?

Hi there, I'm Mujahid Mazlan.

I was also like one of you guys. Searching online about IMU FIS or maybe the degree program.

It's kinda hard decision when you have to choose where did you want to continue your studies. All in all, at the end of the day, you are the one who will be pursuing your studies. So, better go for the best right?

As for me, I have a really different story. Which I may tell if someone requested. (Okay, forget about it).

Somehow, I got into the programme and I love it. As I went to several other universities before, I can compare that IMU is one of the best in learning for Foundation Studies.

You must be curious about my choice right? Why would i choose IMU FIS?

Hmmmm, first of all. Why IMU? Why not some other university?

IMU's Logo - From IMU Website

Before I started to enroll in IMU FIS, I surveyed some other universities as well to further my studies, but it seems that IMU is a really established in Health-science. They have some nice building, and it is so small compact :p - everything in one place. Unlike some other university that have several campuses in different area and connected to each other via a shuttle buses - which in my opinion would waste a lot of time in transportation.

And Hey, IMU is just beside the LRT Sri Petaling in which they have a "Jejantas" that link LRT Sri Petaling and IMU building. So, if you're from Selangor and KL, obviously it is very easy to get to school by public transport!

All in all, I went to their Open Day, in which they do have some fun and exciting activities, campus tour, and career pathway talks. They are so interesting. Then, some of their degree students, like Chinese medicine, offer me to have some fun with their Chinese Medicine Diagnosis Apps, we do some interesting stuff like Auricular Acupressure - in which they put a small seed at one of the acupressure point, to release some pain in my back. Guess what? It works really fine! You guys should also come to IMU Open Day, it is super fun day.

They also have some cool computer labs - with digital learning experiences. Everything related to studies can be access through e-learning. Like the Slides, tutorial, homeworks and even the platform to ask about homework if you understand anything (in most subject). So cool lah!

You guys can check out the campus through virtual tour Here <---

To make it short, I immediately register myself in IMU, plus you got RM450 fee waiver if you register during the open day. Yay! Okay what, can buy many foods already with that money :p

My passion is to continue my degree in health-science related field (For now I still thinking, most probably Dietetics with Nutrition) - Click here to see my other post on why I tend to choose Degree in Dietetics with Nutrition).

I always love the idea of IMU for having only one Foundation Program - that can be use later on to choose any degree program in IMU unlike some other university that specifically focused on certain degree program from foundation. This is because our ambition is really a matter that can be changed anytime. So, from ONLY ONE IMU Foundation in Science, you can choose either to continue your degree in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Biomedical Science, Nursing, Nutrition & Dietitians, and surprisingly they also got some alternative medicine courses here like Chinese Medicine and Chiropractic and so on. This is very useful for student especially, because some may argue that it is better to enter into Foundation in Medicine if you really want to be a doctor. Guess what? Many of them didn't actually interested in medicine after one year of foundation and their certificate can only being accepted by limited choice of degree programme. It happens to many of my friend before. So...

Anyway, back to the topic...

The environment here, foundation students can easily mixed up with degree students that will enable us to evaluate and compare between different courses in degree program available that interest us the most. You will get to know each of the degree programme offered by IMU in detail, in which they will organise the activities and included in your timetable to have some exposure to the degree programme that they offer. (OhMyEnglish). They also got tons of extracurricular activities here like IMU Chariofare - focusing on collecting donation for charity, by having some health activities. You guys can check out the YouTube video below:

In summarized, I can say that IMU Foundation in science is suitable for you if:

1. You are from stable income family and wish to continue in Health-related Field.
2. You have Scholarship that offer you to pursue your study here (seriously it is worth it)
3. You are not sure what to do next for degree but interested in medical-health related field.
4. You are interested in doing degree in Alternative medicine courses as IMU is one of the most establish Alternative Medicine Education pioneer in Malaysia. (One solid reason for me to enter IMU)

That's all for this post! Comment me and do ask me if anything I can help you with :D
